Been thinking about some of the beautiful places here on the Coast that no longer exist. Hope not to bore you but wanted to share this lovely memory.

This was the Chimney's Restaurant in Gulfport. Such an exquisitely beautiful mansion overlooking the waters of the Gulf.
Son and friends took their St Stanislaus College Prep Junior prom dates there for dinner.
A few of us parents were lucky enough to be allowed to dine (in a separate room, of course) there that memorable evening so as to take some pictures.

what a *beautiful* venue it was. i almost couldn't bring myself to view the change ... so sad.
looking through the old floorplan, it's beyond what i could have imagined for the wedding - absolutely perfect with all the crisp whites - so pristine and pure. what a treasure.
i'm glad you were able to enjoy it and hold some wonderful memories.
do you know if they're looking to rebuild?
My husband is a member of the MS Gulf Coast Business Council where there is much discussion about who and what is coming back, rebuilding, or leaving. He has not heard anything about what the Nixes have decided to do. Many people still have not setteled or received any money from insurance companies. That puts them in financial limbo. Generally speaking, historical landmarks such as the Chimneys would be eligible for Federal grant assistance, but it could still take years to settle.
oh, i hope they are able to re-open someday ... it looks like it was a wonderful place.
That is so sad...we used to make that drive from FL to N'awlins along the coast, and it breaks my heart what has happened to those homes, and especially the people who made their homes in that area.
